Welcome to…Movie Battle! The place where two films go head-to-head and you the people will choose the winner!
Last week Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man was up against Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man and it was a battle…but at the end Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man rose victorious with 70% of the votes. Not the outcome I wanted, but the people spoke and to that I say booo! HAHA.
This week’s battle is going to be a good one. Both of these films were released 2010 and both films are flat out fun films in their own rights!
Are You Ready?!
Now for the introductions…
In the blue corner: This ridiculously entertaining, perfectly paced, ultra-violent cinematic rush that kicks the places other movies struggle to reach….I give you, Kick Ass!
And in the red corner: It’s heartfelt, hilarious and a highly satisfying adaptation of the book. You don’t have to be a geek to adore it; you just have to remember being young… I present to you, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World!
Now lets hear from some of the experts…
“Funny and bloody ultra-violent comic book brilliance, you’ll get whiplash from the fever pitched ferocity of these amateur crime fighters…Cage and Johnson are incredible, but it’s Chloe Moretz’s and her character Hit Girl who scorch the screen making Kick Ass one of the best vigilante films of all time.” – Filmhipster
“Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” is a movie that feels completely unique and original. It’s funny, fun, fast paced, and highly entertaining. It takes all of the angst and drama involved in teen relationships and makes an action comedy out of it.” – Fog’s Movie Reviews
“Kick-Ass may not have the best writing, and start to turn into something we have seen before, but still has the great bloody violence, awesome performances, and some nice writing.” – Dan The Man’s Movie Reviews
“The gaming generation will rejoice in it’s fresh, creative approach to film, while others will find it more style over substance. Either way there’s still an abundance of fun to be had.” (Scott Pilgrim vs. The World) – Marked Movies
